Water:  A good rule of thumb is that in bigger towns like Dublin, Limerick and Cork it’s safe to drink the water, but in rural areas be cautious, avoid ice cubes and stick to bottled water. Ask the bed-and-breakfasts where you are staying about that if you wish.

Tipping:   If service charge has not been added, 10% - 15%. In general, tipping not required in bars.
